Hajarie (The Teapot JA) is a fairly recent bistro that has popped up in the Phoenix Ave Complex. Though not entirely new, the amazing little spot was formally known as simply: “The Teapot” and was located in Sovereign Shopping Centre. (The Movie theatre Entrance)
I remember my first few stops at their previous location. I had randomly walked in one day drawn by the display for teas (I’m a serious tea lover- having a cuppa as I write this.) and met both Owner: Jacqui Mighty and Cute Barista: Anna Hines. I quickly fell in love with the place and with them. Everything was so charming. Jacqui and Anna are such amazing people that I clicked with them immediately. I soon found myself going there to get my regular “FIX” as I became addicted to their AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS Chai Tea Latté. Soon we became fast friends and I was kept somewhat in the loop of soon to come expansion. I couldn’t wait!
When I found out that Jacqui had finally expanded, I was simply over the moon for her! I could not wait to visit the new place, and when I finally did… I was not disappointed AT ALL. I was very impressed and sooo happy for Jacqui’s new adventure. The place was absolutely perfect!

Toilet paper…… Over or Under? The Great Debate!
Since the invention of toilet paper people have argued whether which way was the “right” way to place it on the roll. There was even a 124 yr old patent that was discovered stating that “Over” was the right way. I too for a long time insisted that this was the right way too.
“Under” is sooooo annoying. You have to reach up under this roll to try and find the end of it and it can be so frustrating! It would always annoy me to the point where if I came across a friends bathroom and found it in the “Under” position…. I would flip it to “Over!” (sorry not sorry) lol Shameful I know. I would hate seeing it in my moms bathroom and even the powder room… I couldn’t stand it!!!
In my house thankfully my husband doesn’t really care which way it is put on but then that would also mean when it was his turn to change the roll he never really paid attention to how he did it and sometimes he would put it in the “Under” position. My helper (maid) straight up never replenished the roll when it was out lol “Lort” help me! lol

It was a bitter sweet moment when I came to the end of this amazing book. I was dying to finish it but at the same time when I did finish it, I wanted more. More of her hilarious stories. Man they had me bursting out loud while reading that I remember my dog looking up at me as if to say: “What the hell is wrong with this woman?!” lol
So here is a little back story…I learned of krystal’s book on Women’s Day when, the best book store in town, (big up BOOKOPHILIA!) had featured her on their Instagram page. When I saw the book I knew immediately that I had to have it… I just KNEW I neeeeded it! LIKE NOW! I wanted to leave work and run to the store that very same moment but alas, I had to wait until 4:30pm. BUT! When the time finally came, I rushed over the to the store for my copy…. only to then be crushed…. “Like a banana under a cement trucks wheel” 😉 I was soo heart broken to learn that they didn’t actually have any copies of her book in stock at the moment… The post had mis-lead me… *Sigh* So I had to wait even longer to receive this book I knew I so badly needed.
After the crushing news, I immediately messaged Krystal on her Instagram page hoping that she would respond, but not expecting. At the time, I figured she would be too busy to respond to the likes of some random and overly zealous fan like me. Imagine, I hadn’t even read the book yet! (wait till I actually finished! HA!)
To my relief, and great surprise, she DID respond and man oh man was I happy! What made it even better is that she told me that she had sent SIGNED copies ANNNNDDDD that they had special quotes in them! OMG my excitement seriously just went up like 3 notches! I love quotes and I get to have a signed copy by her too??!! Yippiieeee!
Over the next few days, I stayed in touch with her and Bookophilia to find out when EXACTLY they got the books and can I tell you, the moment they had them I rushed to the store… in the middle of the work day, I didn’t give a crap. I NEEEDED that book like a fish needs water lol. That’s literally how I felt… Crazy much? lol meh that’s me and I love it. The store opens at 10:00am. I was there at 10:02am, ready to go through all their copies just so I could choose the quote that was best suited for me. I didn’t care if she had sent 10 copies or 100 copies I was going to go through them all! Luckily it was only 10 so I didn’t leave the office for too long lol.

Ok, so you may have clicked on this tab wondering “What on earth is a spoonie?” “Is this girl crazy?” Well … I am, – as my close friends would agree – to some extent lol Life would be boring otherwise! DUH!! We all gotta have a little crazy in us to get through this life.
Anyhow, on a serious note now, a “Spoonie” is a very special word. It may sound like some cutesy word but sadly it isn’t really a “cute” thing when you get to know what it is about. Sure it is a cute sounding word but really it is a way of referring to something that actually, is not so cute at all. A spoonie is someone who is sick… in my case with Fibromyalgia. It refers to anyone who suffers from any sort of disability or illness; whether it be fibro, down-syndrome, lupus or any physical alignment.
You see, the spoon theory was coined by this amazing lady Christine Miserandino. I will give you an overall gist of the spoon theory but it is best to read it from the original author so please check out her blog: But you don’t look sick
So I started typing out the spoon theory attempting to explain it step by step but realised it is much better understood by ready the original post about. However, I will try to summarise it as best as I can.
Christine and her friend were at a restaurant one day when her friend asked her what it was like to have lupus. She knew that this was the moment that she had to explain it otherwise it would be lost on her forever. She quickly grabbed all of the spoons on the table and even on the other tables as well in the restaurant and handed her friend a bouquet of spoons. Whether it was a bouquet of spoons, forks, knives etc is irrelevant as it just so happened to be the choice for the explanation.

You know, a few months ago I decided to give this blog thing a try again and I was excited to get started, I even made a first post for the month of January. I had a goal in mind to do a post every month at least but really? Who was I kidding! lol. I have yet to make another post, even though I went all out and made a LONG ass list of blog topics to write about.
Well for the past two days (July 8 and today July 9 2014) I have been home sick with a stomach bug. Yay me. The mere thought of food made my stomach lurch and curl with pain. Mind you, I will say that I did quite enjoy the 2 days off of work, who wouldn’t lol, I have been here at home keeping my ass quite and trying to find food that my stomach could handle. I have been wanting to write both for this blog and my book and yet I still have not made a post nor written a single word for the book. What is it with procrastination? I seriously struggle with it. I have actually come to realise that it seems I find the idea of having to do something MORE exciting than actually doing the thing itself… does that even make sense? It does to me anyway.
